Fashion and sustainability could be considered contradictory by essence. Fashion is not meant to be durable, seasons and trends make it ephemeral. Taking this into account, is it possible yet to conceive a system where slow fashion, recyclable fashion and sustainability can have a relevant place in our society?
Many initiatives have already been established by international Groups & Foundations for environmental protection: recycling, alternative fabrics, circular economy…however this growing number of conscious actions is not yet representing much of the global consumption.
Featuring Lizzy Christensen, Design Lead at Everlane, Laurent Claquin, Head of Kering Americas, Suzanne Lee, Creative Director at Modern Meadow and Benjamin Simmenauer, Philosopher and IFM Professor.
Moderated by Michelle Millar Fisher, Louis C. Madeira IV Assistant Curator of European Decorative Arts at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This evening will be followed by a cocktail reception.
