Wednesday evening was opening night for RIOULT Dance NY‘s 2017 season at The Joyce Theater! The world renowned French-American choreographer, Pascal Rioult, began the program with a re-staging of his 1995 work, Te Deum.
The second act began as the iconic music of Deep Purple rang through the theater for the electrifying world premiere of Fire in the Sky. Sequins, color, and funky fabrics were all in the costumes by Emmy-winning designer Patricia Field with David Dalrymple, who were both in the audience along with many who were notably in Pat’s posse.
Also in the audience was New York City Ballet’s Ashley Bouder (along with her husband) , Chez Bushwick’s choreographer Jonah Bokaer, dance patron Joanna Fisher, Maria Cristina Anzola and John Heimann, actress Susan Sarandon, and actress Kathleen Turner.
The after party was at Il Bastardo, where RIOULT Dance NY’s Board Chair Hope Greenfield introduced each dancer in the company and Pascal thanked contributors and staff to many rounds of applause.
