Sunday, July 10th celebrates the ultimate tropical drink, Piña Coladas, in honor of National Piña Colada Day! Over the years, the Puerto Rican cocktail has become an iconic combination of pineapples and coconuts. Here are a few recipes to start your Sunday Funday right!
Sailor Jerry’s Wahine Piña Colada
1 ½ parts fresh pineapple juice
1 ½ parts house-made cream of coconut
1 ½ parts Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and add ice. Shake well and pour into a frozen pineapple. Garnish with sprinkled coconut flakes and orchid.
Reyka’s Icelandic Coconut Gimlet
1 ¾ part Reyka Vodka
1 part coconut rum
¾ part lime juice
Combine all ingredients into cocktail shaker. Shake, garnish with dehydrated coconut and serve.
Montelobos Mezcal Holy Mole!
1 part Montelobos Mezcal
1 part Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur
¾ part lime juice
1 ½ part pineapple juice
¾ part coco lopez
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Combine all ingredients and shake. Strain over ice cubes
