As her iconic store closes for good, style innovator Patricia Field transforms her website into the Patricia Field Art / Fashion Gallery and celebrates with an exhibition at Howl! Happening in NYC March 25th – 27th 2016
Patricia Field is transforming her website, from an arm of her former brick and mortar store, into an Online Art Fashion gallery. As curator of Patriciafield.com, she offers one-of-a-kind Art Fashion pieces both available on the website as well as made-to-order garments custom painted by the artists for both men and women.
To celebrate the new endeavor, Patricia Field will be curating an exhibition of Art/ Fashion at Howl! Happening: An Arturo Vega Project in New York City (6 East 1st Street New York City, NY 10003). This exhibition will be open to the public from March 25th – 27th 2016.
A native New Yorker, boutique owner and style innovator, Patricia has worked closely with a who’s-who of young creative visionaries. This includes iconic artists of decades past like Keith Haring and Jean – Michel Basquiat, (who sold painted garments in her famous 8th Street shop), to burgeoning talents of today like Scooter LaForge. Art has always played an integral role in her world and in her work. Armed with this experience she became acutely aware of a resurgence in creative self-expression that has now taken hold in fashion. Having grown weary and uninspired by the era of ‘fast-fashion’ and mass production, she understood that style connoisseurs were bucking the trend of homogenization by seeking out one-of-a-kind, artistically-driven designs.
The Patricia Field Art Fashion Gallery was born with its spotlight exhibition at Howl! Happening with Arturo Vega’s Insults as its backdrop.
Presenting hand chosen artists Scooter Laforge, Suzan Pitt, Jody Morlock, Iris Barbee Bonner, Thomas Knight, Suzanne Mallouk and Kyle Brincefield the gallery invites the viewer to explore made to order pieces, that have already attracted fans like Beyonce, Miley Cyrus and Madonna, and can be delivered world-wide.
