Tarra Louis-Charles is a self-taught, Haitian-American artist currently living in New York, NY. Having lived a very nomadic life, she have had the opportunity of witnessing many different ways of living, which helps shape the overall mood behind her work.
Being raised by odd, quirky, mysterious, women, she have always been fascinated by eclectic and unique personalities. Her artwork captures the essence of these women, and the parts of them which make up the fibers of her own being.
Tarra’s work explores the female form in the context of vulnerability, emotions, portraits, bold contrasts, Caribbean-inspired color palette, and abstract expressionism.
